Completing non-vocational PhD research - started part-time. In my thesis - "The Origin and Development of English Folk Plays" - I used cluster analysis, sequence matching and novel informatics techniques to investigate the evolution of a large collection of orally transmitted texts.

AstraZeneca R&D Charnwood (formerly Astra Charnwood)

Responsible for developing databases and applications for pharmaceutical discovery. These mostly centred on chemical structures, although they also needed significant expertise regarding biological test data.

Responsible for developing and managing research information systems for pre-clinical chemists and biologists, including design, programming and user support.

I have regularly contributed to international conferences in the UK, Europe and the US on chemical information handling - especially for MDL and Accelrys.
